Both weekends for the "Spoutwood" Fairie Festival and the Kharmafest were rainy, so we didn't go :-(

My PA Faire Rant: Going to the PA Faire turned out to be a REAL BIG bummer this year -- because -- since we were there last (quite a few years ago), YOU CAN'T PURCHASE TICKETS AT THE GATE, they have gone to an ALL online ticketing process, with what looks like a limit on ticket sales.  So - good thing I decided to check online before making the 90 minute trek up there.  Worst part about it was finally getting a friend of mine to having him and his 9 year old daughter to go, after years of telling him how much fun they are for kids.  So much for being able "to go on a whim".....  Other negatives about their ticket policy includes: 1) Tickets are good only for the date you purchased them for, so if someone dies and you can't make it, too bad, you're screwed, 2) The faire goes on rain or shine, so if you don't wanna go when it's raining, too bad, you're screwed (they have only cancelled -one- day that I know of), 3) No exchanges, 4) No refunds (There maybe a covid exception)...... They have taken all the spontaneously out of going!  As far as I'm concerned, this is like stealing - paying for something and not getting anything in return.  Even with pro-ball events, you're able to resell your tickets or give them to a friend.  Reminds me of the story I read about an American family who decided to pack up and move to Russia (This was within the past year), dumped their money into a Russian bank, and then the Russian government decided they had too much money, and took it from them, and now they had nothing - and remember, their credit cards wouldn't work over there either because of the Russian banks being barred from the world wide credit system.  Oy.

.....2025 Stuff:
This will be the last year for the Kharmafest, so I'm told by a reliable source that provides services to the event.  Missed it, dammit.
I just realized that I haven't been to the MD or PA Renfaires since 2011! ....Bad dad.
