Charles B. Elder Sr.
Mr. Elder was a Korean War soldier, who became a POW after being captured
during the Battle of Heartbreak Ridge in September 1951. He remained
captive until Armistice Day on July 27th, 1953, which coincidently, was Mr.
Elder's birthday. He received the Purple Heart after a long process,
50 years, due the records being lost after a fire. More information

here. He passed away on October 17th, 2017, and was 90 years old!
His wife accepted the award on his behalf.
Elders John Donohue and Ernie Bures from the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr.
Memorial Post 174 of the American Legion Hall in Timonium MD, came with Mrs. Elder to be part
of the awards ceremony. John spoke about Charles Elder and how they
assisted him navigating the path to obtaining his Purple Heart! Many
thanks to them for helping and coming to the luncheon.
Mary Lou McAllister
Mary Lou is local volunteer and community activist in St. Michaels MD, and
is being recognized for her service and dedication to the town of St.
Michaels.

John Larsen
John had a long and successful career in the sports footwear industry.
He was a long time executive with New Balance for 29 years, and held the
titles of president, COO, and president emeritus. He is also Chairman
of the Board for the United States Footwear Manufacturers Association. Additional info

Greg Elliott
Greg is a physician scientist dedicated to the improving the diagnosis and
treatment of Pulmonary Hypertension.

Sean Stackley
Sean is an American engineer and former naval officer who served as the Assistant
Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition from July 2008 to
August 3, 2017. He also served as the acting Secretary of the Navy from January
20 to August 3, 2017. As of September 2018, he is SVP and President,
Communications & Networked Systems Segment at L-3 Technologies. He also served
as a professional staff member of the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services.

Willy Conley
Willy is a Deaf actor, playwright, director, scholar, poet, novelist,
photographer, and Professor of Theater at Gallaudet University. One of
his early achievements was becoming a Registered Biological Photographer
after studying at RIT in Rochester. Lots more information on his

Derek Waters
Gil Stange accepted the award for Derek since he was not able to attend.
Derek is an actor, writer, director, producer and creator. He is best
known for the creation of and executive production of the Emmy nominated
Comedy Central series Drunk History.
In case you're wondering what an executive producer is, they are the ones
